The new Radisson Beach Resort in Larnaca hosted a very special event in honor of the Jewish New Year (Rosh Hashanah 5783) on Thursday, September 22nd.

The initiative came from Quality Group and in collaboration with the Embassy of Israel, Rosh Hashanah 5783 was honored in the presence of the Minister of Labor Mr. Kyriakos Kousios, the President of the Democratic Rally and Candidate for President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Averof Neophytou, of the Ambassador of Israel Mr. Oren Anolik, the Chief Rabbi Raskin, the Mayor of Larnaca Mr. Andreas Vyras, the President of the Community Council of Oroklini Mr. Neophytos Fakontis, MPs, diplomats and many other personalities from Cyprus and abroad.

The reception that was given, received more than 300 guests and was crowned with success as everyone had the opportunity to hear the blessings of Chief Rabbi Raskin, who explained the importance of apples, pomegranates and honey on the table for a new year sweet and beautiful. The Chief Rabbi then, blew the traditional horn called Shofar which marks the coming of the new year and following the tradition the guests were invited to dip the apples in honey and taste them a new year filled with happiness.

The Founder and CEO of Quality Group, Savvas Kakos, stressed in his speech that the relations between Cyprus and Israel are entering a new era and that never before have we been so close to the neighboring country. "It is an honor and a joy for us to be able to be present and share the joy of our friends and associates, during the most important day of the year for Israel. As human beings, we have a lot in common which unite us while at the same time our goal remains always the same. To be better day by day," said Mr. Savvas Kakos.

At the same time, the Ambassador of Israel to Cyprus, Mr. Oren Anolik, said "Let us wish that all the hardships of the past year will become the blessings of this new year". In addition, as a gesture of appreciation towards Mr. Kakos, a commemorative, thank you letter, was given by the ambassador to Mr. Kakos, for the support of Quality Group to the Jewish community, the Embassy and the country of Israel.

It is worth mentioning that several guests arrived from Israel specifically for the event and enjoyed the hospitality of the newly established Radisson Beach Resort.

The evening was unique, under the starry sky of Larnaca, accompanied by jazz music, while the menu contained exclusive creations of the chef, based on the standards of Jewish cuisine and tradition.
